About the practice
Where the science of orthopedic surgery meets the art of personal care.

Gustav “Gus” Fischer, MD
Dr. Fischer is an orthopedic surgeon dedicated to arthritis care and joint replacement of the hip and knee. He begins with clear answers: what is causing the problem, which options are reasonable, and what each could mean for the life a patient wants to return to.
Care begins with an accurate diagnosis and consideration of nonsurgical options. When joint replacement is likely to provide meaningful benefit, the plan is personalized to the patient and may include a muscle-sparing Direct Superior hip approach or kinematically aligned knee replacement, with Mako robotic assistance when appropriate.
Good orthopedic care brings evidence, anatomy, and surgical judgment together with the priorities of the person being treated. Technology supports that work but does not replace it. Planning data and precision tools help Dr. Fischer carry out decisions that still depend on soft-tissue balance, experience, and careful surgical technique.
Care philosophy
A plain-language explanation of where your pain and loss of function are coming from, and what the diagnosis means for you.
Evidence-based options shaped around your anatomy, priorities, and the activities you want back, including a personalized joint replacement plan when needed.
If surgery becomes the right choice, a coordinated team and practical plan prepare you for a safe, efficient recovery.
